Popsa is the AI-powered memory curation platform that transforms overwhelming photo libraries into beautifully designed, emotionally resonant printed products – photo books, calendars and more – in minutes. We’re delighted to be shortlisted for Best AI eCommerce Software Solution at the the UK eCommerce Awards 2025. Our co-founder, Liam Houghton, said:

“It’s an honour to be recognised in the UK eCommerce Awards for the first time. At Popsa, we continuously strive for innovation, and this nomination is a testament to the dedication and talent of our team. We also owe thanks to our customers, who have trusted us with their memories and pushed our products beyond what we ever imagined.”

What sets us apart

Popsa helps people look deeper and feel deeper, enabling them to build their sense of self through memories. Unlike many services, our app has been carefully designed to analyse photo libraries without uploading them to the Cloud. This ensures complete privacy while still delivering intelligent organisation, personalised suggestions, compelling narratives and beautiful layouts.

Enhancing the customer experience

At the heart of Popsa’s innovation is our proprietary AI stack, which automates every step of the product creation journey, including selecting photos, laying out pages, suggesting captions, choosing visual themes and even timing reminders to coincide with relevant moments. All of this is invisible to the user, but it results in an experience that feels simple, intuitive and, most importantly, joyful.

“Popsa harnesses technology to give everyday people their own creative superpowers.”

Liam Houghton, Popsa co-founder.

While much of the industry is focused on AI for operational efficiency or marketing automation, Popsa is redefining AI for emotional impact. Built entirely in-house, our AI blends computer vision, NLP, intent prediction and proprietary logic to deliver a fully automated, emotionally resonant UX.

What has it solved?

Our platform solves the biggest blocker in the photo printing category: decision fatigue.

• The average person has over 20,000 photos on their phone

• 45% feel overwhelmed by their photo library

• 60% worry about losing those memories altogether

Our users are mobile-first consumers aged 25–55, often parents or holiday goers, who want to preserve memories but lack time, design expertise or confidence. Previously, these customers would either abandon photobook projects or resort to low-quality solutions. Popsa uses AI to solve this by doing the hard work for them and elevating everyday photos into print-ready artefacts. Some 50% of all purchases are now made using our AI-generated designs with no manual edits. Our results speak for themselves: we now serve 10 million users and 2 million paying customers across 50+ countries, and we’re on track for $56M revenue in 2025 – that’s over $1M revenue per employee (6-7x UK tech average). Plus, we now have 350,000 reviews across TrustPilot, the AppStore (4.8) and Play Store (4.6), all rated excellent on average.

Final word

At Popsa, we’re doing what everyone is talking about, but few are executing: AI-powered commerce that actually converts. While many startups use AI to optimise back-end efficiency, ours powers the entire user experience, from discovery to purchase, to post-sale sharing, blending technical depth with emotional relevance. We believe this is the future of eCommerce: invisible technology, beautiful outcomes, and effortless customer journeys.

We look forward to the awards ceremony and wish all the finalists the very best of luck.
