About Fluid Commerce
Fluid is an eCommerce agency dedicated to transforming brands into market leaders through the power of Adobe Commerce (Magento) web development and performance marketing. Founded in 2009 by Adam Hindle, Fluid is on a mission to support retailers with the ecommerce power and expertise they want and deserve.
We’re a team of 30 world-class developers, strategists, planners and innovators, based across the Great British Isles and Europe. Our goal is to provide our clients with the very best skills and industry knowhow – shown by our raft of credentials from Amazon, Facebook, Google, not to mention our Silver-Level Adobe Solution Partner status.
Flexibility is key for us. With our team based across the UK, and different timezones, we’ve embraced working from home, hybrid working, and flexi-time working for years. Our home, and HQ, is in the distinctly individual Northern Quarter, the Manchester epi-centre of innovation and tech.
We bring the team together for summer and Christmas parties, regular team drinks, and provide a range of wellbeing initiatives, including:
- Stress & Wellbeing workshops
- Additional holidays for length of stay
- The option to buy more annual leave through salary sacrifice
- An Employee Assistance Programme
- Online exercise app and meditation app
- Bike2Work scheme
- Fashion/Apparel or Footwear Ecommerce Website of the Year for Lakeland Leather
- Fashion/Apparel or Footwear Ecommerce Website of the Year for ChloBo
- B2C Ecommerce Website for the Year for ChloBo
- Large Agency of the Year
So good we nominated it twice: ChloBo is an online retailer of distinctive hand-crafted jewellery with meaning. Their online store is beautifully stocked with stacking bracelets, rings, earrings and more, with a personalised collection, kids range and perfume.
Our objectives for the site were to continue the growth driven by the pandemic in 2020 into 2021 and beyond. We set about achieving this with:
- A site upgrade to ensure ChloBo enjoys the very latest in speed, security and features from Adobe Commerce (Magento 2), plus
- Site improvements and the introduction of key tech integrations that would excite and delight the target audience (women aged 25-44)
The upgrade and integrations with leading tech solutions (Yotpo, Klarna, Klevu, Braintree) saw:
- 36% increase in revenue
- 16% increase in the conversion rate
- 4% increase in average order value
“We have been with Fluid Commerce for over five years now so they know our site and industry inside out. They are continually on hand to offer support, guidance, solutions and development to move with the industry and changes within the online world” – Katie Hope, Ecommerce Manager, ChloBo
Lakeland Leather is the UK’s largest independent leather retailer, selling a selection of coats, handbags, luggage and accessories. The fashion retailer trades online and in their 15 stores across the UK, embracing multichannel and ecommerce.
Following a bumper year in 2020 as a result of the pandemic, the retailer wanted to continue online growth and modernise the user experience of the store. Our strategy was to focus on the user experience of the site on desktop and mobile by redeveloping the Magento 2 site as a Progressive Web App (PWA) using Adobe Commerce PWA Studio.
In the first few months of launching, the site saw:
- 52% increase in revenue
- 44% increase in transactions
PWAs are mobile first, and so it was especially exciting to see that mobile-only revenue boosted by an impressive 74%.
On being shortlisted
Fluid Commerce has had an extraordinary twelve months against a challenging backdrop of circumstances. Our success as one of the leading independent ecommerce agencies in the North is a direct result of the investment in a uniquely skilled and motivated team who are dedicated to delivering ecommerce success across paid advertising, Magento ecommerce and marketing for Amazon.
To win an award at the UK eCommerce Awards would establish us as the go-to eCommerce growth agency for retailers that seek that hard-to-find mixture of knowledge, availability, efficiency, care and straight-forward advice and support.
